This is a good value tub of vegan friendly maca capsules, they come in a good quality compact tub containing 120 capsules. I've found the capsules easy to take with a sip of water and they are Easy to swallow , two capsules after a meal is the recommended daily intake. I like that you get 2 months supply and they are easy to take.

Osavi 'Maca' contains 120 vegan capsules, providing 60 daily servings (i.e. two capsules per daily serving) of Maca (Lepidium meyenii) root 5:1 extract at the stated 1,000 mg dose, extracted "from 5,000 mg of mature maca root, wildly grown in Peru". The Maca plant is native to Peru; it is a cruciferous vegetable related to broccoli, kale, and cabage. Its tuber was traditionally used by Andean people as a food, and a medicine to treat respiratory conditions and rheumatic disease. Some claim that Maca may increase libido, fertility, relieve symptoms of menopause, improve mood and energy, benefit cognitive function, aid wound healing, digestion of nutrients, and have some anti-inflammatory properties. However, it would appear there is a need for more research to identify potential benefits of Maca supplements (which come in powder and capsule forms). The optimal medicinal dose of Maca has not been established, however, some studies have used between 1,500 mg to 3,000 mg per day. Research suggests that Maca as a food supplement is generally considered safe to take in doses up to 3,000 mg per day for up to 4 months. At 5,000 mg of maca root equivalent per serving, this is a good strength. The directions advise that this supplement should be taken after a meal. The tablets weigh 714 mg each (1,428 mg per two capsules). They are a standard size, medium, and easy to swallow, with no discernable taste or smell. According to the ingredients list on the label, these tablets also contain inulin (the quantity is not specified), and a hypromellose (HPCM) capsule. The label states that the total net weight is 72.7 g, and provides the one-to-one capsule size. The label is easy to read and indicates that these capsules are vegan, gluten free, lactose free and soy free. The label also clearly provides the batch number and the best before date, as well as the "manufactured for" and the "UK Importer" name and address (Olivit and Osavi, they both have very good websites). It is the first time we have found this level of traceability and reassurance, and it is what we would have expected for all food supplements. One study in 2018 found that, after consuming a Maca product, lead blood levels had increased; Osavi provide reassurance that the particular item we have has been tested and is within safe levels. The shelf-life from receipt was just over 15.5 months, which is good. At the time of writing the price for this supplement works out at just over 18 pence per two-tablet serving, or around just over 27 pence at full price, which is reasonably priced.

Good quality and works well no after tast

The capsules are typical size and easy enough to swallow. I appreciate the fact it is suitable for vegans with a vegetarian capsule. You are getting 120 here and if you stick to the recommended serving size of 2 then they will last you around 2 months. Pretty good value for money. You get a decent expiry date so more than enough time to use this supplement up. Certainly one to consider for your energy health.
